Devon Hapner, Battery Tech

Devon Hapner started Marching band in Burnsville, MN in 2012 where he first picked up snare drum. Devon was apart of that marching band for 2 years (12′-13’/13′-14′) and then moved back to Homestead the summer of 2014 and got on board with South Dade the summer of 2014 playing snare drum as well. Graduated class of 2016 doing 2 years at SD (14′-15’/15′-16′). Devon played drumset for about 16 years and played with a few bands in South Florida. After he graduated he began as Percussion staff as a snare tech for the 2016 season. This would be his 2nd season as a staff member. Other than High school Devon marched with an independent group FIU indoor Percussion this past season (2017). Devon’s ambitions for this ensemble just in general is to make each of his students better musicians and people on and off the field. He uses his past and present experiences with this activity to not only better his percussion development,  but to make their high school experience similar to his in any aspect of the ensemble. If Devon has any goal or objective to meet in this activity and organization it would be to push the students to limits they didn’t think was possible and achieve excellence and self satisfaction for as long as they are apart of the program.
